So I figure I should introduce myself too. Not that you guys don't know who I am. Aaaanyway,
I'm John, 4th year in Human Resources. I started off writing Poetry (see our Poetry forums, where I'm currently the only contirbutor muahahaha), but soon found a love for fantasy and Tolkein-esque epic-style adventures. I write just a little about of everything, but tend to have a heavy focus on character development as well as world-building. I've written two "main stories", one which you could say was more fanfic-esque because it was written in a pre-existing world (but had nothing to do with the "canonical lore" of said world), and one in a world that I created myself.
If you've heard of the game Tibia, that's the first story I'm talking about. I actually found the Roleplaying boards there (Oh gosh, I'm such a dork), and that helped me switch over from poetry to actual prose. The X-Men were a pretty heavy influence on my second world.
I've taken the world of Earth into a setting where there's some sort of sinister plan to harvest the people under the government. The AGE project (Altered Genetics Expansion) is something that is (seemingly?) Government run, in an effort to push humanity into their next evolution. It follows the story of Zerrif (my main character) and how he's impacted by this project, how he joins up with an underground group of Altered Genes called Ardring, and how they undertake different missions in order to obtain one simple goal: trying to live a normal life again.
I could really go on and on about it, but the easiest way to say it is that yes, they have powers. Again, X-Men influence. Unlike the X-Men where evolution happened naturally, the evolution in my story was forced upon the masses through various methods, and Ardring is out to stop that. Or are they? Dun dun duuuuunnnnnn.
